Mark DeDonato, LCSWMark DeDonato

Mark DeDonato is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers. Mark recieved his undergraduate degree in English Literature from Wesleyan University. He received his Masters in Social Service Administration from the university of Chicago with a concentration in clinical social work and school social work. Mark additionally holds a Type 73 school social work certification and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers.

Mark has clinical experience with both adolescents and adults struggling with depression and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse, self-injury, and school and adjustment issues. He is also working on his certification as a sex addiction therapist from the international institute of trauma and addiction professionals. Mark believes that the therapist/client relationship is a powerful tool in helping people gain insight into thoughts, feelings, and situations that cause distress and develop new skills to work towards a more meaningful life.

Mark is available to work with individuals and families that have a loved one in treatment as a consultant on how to be supportive of treatment and access further therapeutic care.

Outside of private practice, Mark is the Director of Discharge Planning and a Primary Therapist at a residential treatment center for women. He interned in school social work at Hinsdale Central High School and was a case manager at Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital.

Mark currently resides in Westmont with his wife, Sarah, and their two dogs. Mark enjoys cooking, music, and reading. He is also an avid traveler.
